I’m so focused on my watercolours that my ink pads often feel a bit neglected! However, when I saw the new, limited edition STAMPtember set from Concord & 9th, I knew I needed to dig them out and give them some love!

The Concord & 9th exclusive STAMPtember set is pure, classic Christmas. A wonderfully large poinsettia to ground a variety of winter foliage, and all of the stamps are multi-layered.

gorgeous, easy, multi-layered christmas set
For a perfectly smooth, sturdy card, I chose the 130lb white from Simon Says Stamp to get the best impressions when stamping. I started with the large poinsettia image and stamped the first layer in Pucker ink. I also stamped on masking paper and trimmed out the flower. For the detail, I used Schoolhouse Red ink. For the flower centre, I used Citrine, followed by Sprout. I then peeled off the back of the masking paper and placed it over the poinsettia while I stamped the surrounding foliage.

I stamped the leaves next in Pearfection and Field. I masked these before continuing with Beanstalk Green and Olive for the mistletoe. For the pine sprigs, I picked out Laurel Green and Evergreen. I returned to Pucker and Schoolhouse Red for berries I dotted around.
I added a third layer to the poinsettia and leaves with coloured pencils. For the poinsettia, I chose a mid-value red and extended the darker areas of the second layer. I decided on a darker value for the greenery and added a few details, such as reinforcing stems and veins.

I splattered the panel with white gouache and gold watercolour and scattered around enamel dots and pearls.

I took a sentiment from the Festive Flower set, prepped the card with an anti-static powder brush and then stamped in clear embossing ink before heat embossing with Antique Gold embossing powder.

Finally, I trimmed the panel and mounted it with foam tape on a Desert Storm card base. This card, well, the panel at least, is all one layer – a rarity for me!
In previous years I have found it helpful to put a summary of the STAMPtember events for reference. I will try to take part as much as possible, but I’m still not at full speed and so I will pop in during the month as best I can. Here’s the calendar of events as it stands so far:

This is as beautiful a card as I have ever seen for Christmas! It’s stunning, Debby! I ordered these stamps and feel like I will be able to utilize them all year long. Your spatters and enamel dots really put the perfect touch on this one.
