Ok, on to today. This post is part of a blog hop to celebrate the Kisses release which joins the Hugs release from last month, so please scroll down to the end of the post for all the details. I do love a versatile stamp and background stamps are right up there with being the most flexible design-wise. On my card I used the Lace Heart Kaleidoscope cling stamp in two ways for a totally different look!

one stamp two ways for a totally different look!
For the next layer, I took a piece of hot-pressed watercolour card for it’s smooth surface to get a clean stamped image. Again, I used the Lace Heart Kaleidoscope stamp and stamped it in Versamark before white heat embossing. I used Distress Watercolour Pencils in Kitsch Flamingo and Candied Apple to scribble over the surface and added lots of water to blend out into a gorgeous soft watercolour with subtle patterning from the embossed design – a totally different look to the tone-on-tone one on the background panel and yet using the same stamp. I splattered with white gouache and then when dry tore a panel to fit on top of the kraft background. I used foam tape to attach the watercolour piece and then tied with Lawn Fawn twine. I also die cut a Whinsome Branch from Ivory card and tucked that into the twine, attaching it in places with tiny pieces of foam tape.
Finally, I finished off the card with a sprinkling of Eggshell Pearls.
