all the beautiful flowers
This Lisianthus set is another designed by the delightful Emily Midgett for Simon Says Stamp. I am loving this collaboration and can’t wait to see more of these flower sets in the future. Their size is just perfect for getting dark and light tones in each of the petals and leaves and such and yet you can still squeeze them onto an A2 card.

It’s hard to see in these photos, but for the background, I applied paint directly to the Soft Plaid Background set, spritzed it with water and then stamped onto a piece of watercolour card before splattering liberally with paint and white gouache.

Of coures, I had great fun painting the Lisanthus flower too and used the matching die to cut it out before foam mounting on the background.

I really like the clean font in the sentiments in the Celebrate Rose Corner set and so stamped a greeting in Versamark ink on Ivory card, heat embossed with Antique Gold embossing powder, trimmed out and again foam mounted on the background.
I mounted the finished panel on a card base cut and scored from Desert Storm card before embellishing with enamel dots and pearls.

life update
As I mentioned above, I am recovering from surgery and my journey is going well. That’s the main focus of this little story. However, if I backtrack, things got a little chaotic with a change of surgeon because the original surgeon came down with Covid. The date was being moved from Wednesday to Thursday and back again. I did wonder if I would get the operation done or if I’d have to wait at the back of the queue again for the next appointment.
In addition, each surgeon seems to have a way of doing things and so changes were being made to the procedure too. But as I said above, the main focus is that I am recovering well. It’s all done and I can now concentrate on physiotherapy and my overall health. It’s amazing when I plug all the health tasks into my planning app there really isn’t a lot of time left in the day to do anything else!

GORGEOUS! I am amazed how well that soft plaid background blends with a floral. Your technique of applying paint to the stamp is one I will definitely try. Your floral and leaf colors, as usual, are spot on. The detail of the flower center is delicate and striking. Simply stunning results.
So glad you are on the road to recovery, but please take your time. If it were me, I would stretch my recovery for as long as possible so my husband did the household chores :)
Absolutely beautiful Debby. Glad you are recovering well and not trying to do too much during your post op period. I love your watercolours! I keep trying periodically but I don’t think I have the skill – but I’ll keep practicing and watching your videos and posts for inspiration. Thank you and get well soon x
Wow!!! You continue to Amaze me with your coloring!!! Stunning!!
Another sensational card that just takes my breath away, Debby! I’m so happy to hear that you had your surgery and you are recovering well! Hugs, Darnell
Hi Debby! So glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery. Just take care of you – no matter how long it takes.
Another beautiful floral! Watercolor florals are certainly your signature style.
