beautiful white heat embossed orchid bouquet
When I saw the Orchid Rose Bouquet stamp set, firstly I knew I wanted to paint it and second, it was the perfect set for creating two cards from one painting.

simple watercolouring
I stamped the Orchid Rose Bouquet set in Versamark ink on a watercolour card I had pre-treated with an anti-static powder and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I loosely painted the flowers and the card around them with Daniel Smith paints before liberally splattering with white gouache.

Once dry, I die cut the piece twice with a Slimline Nested Rectangle die to create two panels. I also die cut two Slimline Scallop Frame dies from Ivory card. I cut and scored two card bases from Neenah Desert Storm card. I added the scallop frames to the two card bases with foam tape and then foam mounted the watercoloured panels on top.

For the sentiments, I stamped a couple of greetings from the XL Greeting Set in Versamark ink on Vellum I had pre-treated with anti-static powder. I white heat embossed the sentiments before die cutting with their matching dies. I added tiny pieces of foam tape behind the lettering and added the greetings to the cards. I finished with a sprinkling of pearls and sequins held in place with Gina K Connect glue.

sunflowers for peace

My thoughts are with the people of Ukraine and those in Russia who oppose the war. My heart was heavy as I saw the news and as my Instagram feed filled with sunflowers, the national flower of Ukraine, I felt the urge to pick up my paints.

When you Google the meaning of sunflowers, you come up with
- happiness
- optimism
- honesty
- longevity
- peace
- admiration
- devotion.
I have seen all of that during the last week. I hope love and peace win out. All people affected by war, I keep you in my thoughts.
Speak soon.
