Firstly, let me say thank you for the resoundingly positive response to my Genetic Haemochromatosis story. You guys really are the best and I couldn’t wish for better support. OK, on with a card post and I have another mixed media card for you today. I started a bunch of backgrounds off recently; First, I taped a few pieces of card to boards and started adding layers of watercolour paint as I went about my day, letting them dry and do their thing without being fussed over.

Then, I added a bit of collage with old book papers and followed that up with fibres in the form of Tim Holtz Mummy Cloth. Once that was dry, I added more layers of paint and also I drew pencil squiggles along with charcoal ones too. Next came the Crackle Paste smeared in a few places over the paint. Not happy with leaving things alone quiet yet, I rubbed some Crooked Broomstick Distress Crayon into the crackle texture to showcase all that texture.

Once I’d got all the background details in place, I added the Peony and Leaves die cut from Ivory card and held it in place with Gina K Connect Glue. I finished off with a sentiment strip from the Reverse Sun and Moon set added over the top with foam tape. Next, I randomly rubbed Multi Medium Matte over the piece and sprinkled on Distress Mica Flakes. Finally, I finished off with a few Eggshell Pearls.

Well that is me for today, I’ll be back next week with a couple of cards to share with you. Shhhh it’s a secret!
