FAVOURITE BITS
Amongst all these photos, there are a couple of highlights. In the first one, above, it is the way the ink seeps over the edges of the moon along with all that lovely Mica Stain goodness. Secondly, below, the way the trees stamp over the old book paper and watercolour. Also that texture from the Grit Paste is wonderful!
Oh, one more, although I could go on forever, but it’s the way the Father Christmas and reindeer combine with the hazy moon and all the delicious splatter from the Mica Sprays – gorgeous! That big splodge of green was accidental, but actually, it turned out I really like it! I must aim for some big splodges in my splattering moving forward.
For those of you that want to full photo tour, keep scrolling! And watch out for Tim’s live on Facebook at 12 Noon ET where he will be sharing examples using his STAMPtember set including my cards and tags shown here.
CARD AND TAG SET 1
This card and tag set both started out with the moon mask included in the Tim Holtz STAMPtember set along with the Holiday Mica Stain Set 1 recently released. Those colours are just gorgeous and the sparkled when you catch them to the light is amazing.
I remembered I had the Fanciful Snowlakes dies from Tim and when I got out the package I found I’d kept a couple of snowflakes tucked in the back from a previous project. From memory, they were lightly distressed with Antique Linen ink and then given a coat of Rock Candy Distress Glitter.
I paired the snowflakes with torn vellum and book paper and stamped and white heat embossed part of one of the stamp set greetings on black card, white heat embossed and trimmed to a banner.
The subtly of the Santa in his sleigh with his reindeer, stamped in black over the book paper and Mica Spray stain background is right up my street. A beautifully detailed image but one that blends into the design as a whole.
Oh, the tag with the moon mask on this one is just lovely! And the tree line just popping up above and onto the moon. I just love how this came out.
You get just a hint at what the shimmer is like in real life on this photo. I also love how the green blended in along the top of the tag too. It provides a window of green for the moon and sky to peep through.
This sentiment is as one on the stamp set, but I trimmed each line out and separated them for more interest. I did debate trying to line them up straight, maybe, this straight line challenged person should always put things on at an angle!
CARD & TAG SET 2
I had to try those trees over a watercolour wash. For these I used watercolour card and a tag die from CZ Design.
I had a bit of a theme going on here with the book paper and vellum even though the two card and tag sets came out looking totally different.
Here’s that sentiment I kept using from the set, but this time stamped as one on vellum and white heat embossed. I tore the vellum edge and added it over the tag with a twirl of silver thread behind.
One of my favourite bits again – the light watercolour wash, the trees over the book paper and then the texture brought in with Grit Paste through a Falling Snow stencil.
For the tag, I combined the same book paper and vellum with the stamped trees, and another Fanciful Snowflake which I dunked in the watercolour mix to make it tone. Oh and a slither of a diagonal striped piece that I had left over from making the card.
I love Tim’s Dymo inspired labels, but I didn’t have the Holiday set. Instead, I made my own with an old Dymo label maker I found in a drawer. I added the labels over the top of a twirl of twine. And notice this time, I did go for that angled look rather than trying to align them straight LOL.

Absolutely LOVED all of your makes for this Tim Holtz Release!!!
You are the master! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!
I’m quite sure that if I just touched your tags, my fingers would get frosty. They are the most magnificent representations of a winter scene – absolutely beautiful on top of realistic. Unbelievable! Can I say more?
I knew you would do something fabulous with this set and you really did. These are awesome! This is the only set I managed to snag from the Stamptember releases because I don’t like to stay up late. LOL. So happy I got this one though and cannot wait to use it.
Hi Debby, I absolutely love your card and tags. You captured winter beautifully! I saw your card and tags on Tim Holtz live and as soon as I saw them I thought of you. You are incredibly talented. Thank you for sharing your tutorial! The addition of the book page was ingenious!! I know you do videos of your
paintings. Do you think you will do a video of these tags and card?
Hi Chris, and thank you! I’ll be back doing videos in October, but for now, I’m concentrating on getting as many as I can of the STAMPtember sets showcased. I can make more photo only posts than I can videos when time is of the essence in such a busy month.
Absolutely STUNNING!!!!!
Your makes with this awesome Stamptember set are stunning. The moment I saw in the Live card + tag I knew you made them. These are my favorites of your make.
You are talking about book page, did you ada a piece of an old book on top of your cards and tags or used it on the whole background, I read the post twice but I still can overlook it?
Thank you so much for sharing your stunning inspiration, stay safe and have a wonderful day.
Hi Henriette, and thank you! The book paper, from 1910 an English Literature Dictionary, is in the background. I created all the water media stuff and then added strips of the book paper and stamped over the top. It’s more obvious on the monochrome card and tag. Look at the tree line :D Hope that helps.
Thank you for your answer Debby, I see it now you said it.
I had noticed earlier some on the monochrome card and tag but didn’t know if you used it on the whole background. I love the colours of these monochrome card and tag.
Stay safe and have a wonderful day.
Goodness, I so love your work! I was lucky and popped over to SSS and got this set before it sold out! I will be back for visual inspiration once it arrives! Your work is fabulous!!!
