As I hone in further on the colour palette that speaks to me, I saw a peachy pink and dusky blue combo. I can’t remember now where I saw it. I think it was on a colour chart on Pinterest. I spend a lot of time scrolling through colour palettes! However, wherever I saw it the combo stuck in my head and although it is not a traditional colour scheme for Christmas I think the soft peach works beautifully with the stunning snowflakes in the GinaK STAMPtember set just out today. DUSKY CHRISTMAS HUES
The key for me when heat embossing a delicate image is a smooth cardstock. As I was going to watercolour over the top of the snowflake, I chose the silky smooth Arches Hot Pressed watercolour card.
KEY INGREDIENTS
It possibly doesn’t show very well in my photographs, but the snowflake has a built-in sentiment banner across the middle. I wanted the greeting to stand out more so than I could achieve on the peach colour and so I ink blended a scrap piece of Ivory card with Weather Wood and Stormy Sky Distress Oxide inks. Together they provided the perfect dusky blue to stamp and white heat emboss the greeting on. I cut the strip down until it nestled into the sentiment banner spot on the snowflake.
One top tip is that if your heat embossing isn’t perfect, then fill in any gaps with a Posca paint marker!

Pin Me
Summary of the project which gives all the views of the card in one photo :D I’d love if you pinned and called by on Pinterest :D
Peach seems to be my new favorite color and it pairs beautifully with this exquisite snowflake.
This is soooo Beautiful!!! I love the colors!!
Stunning! I love un-traditional colors for Christmas.
Lovely card. Gina K. always makes such lovely stamp sets. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
Lovely card and love that colour combo too, how did you do the background, paint, inks?
Thank you, Christine. The background was done in watercolours over the top of the heat embossed snowflake. Hope that helps :D
I adore the peachy pink background with embossed snowflake. I’ve noticed more pastel pinks this year, nice change from traditional colors.
