I’m on the Simon Says Stamp blog today for my monthly Doodling With Debby series. When I saw the new Delicate Outline Flowers set I knew I had to paint it! I debated heat embossing for some quick resist watercolouring, but in the end, no-line watercolouring won as I felt this technique let the gorgeous blooms shine. I’ve linked all supplies with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
I hope you’ll call by and check out the video on Simon’s blog.

Hi Debbie
What a beautiful card! I have peonies in my yard and just love them. But the heat these days in Colorado is hard on them.
I love Oakey how cute he is. I have a Border collie named Sammy.
I will definitely give this beautiful card a try, will make it into a birthday card for my mom in Belgium.
You inspire me every time and wanted to say thank you!
Debby, I can’t stop looking at this card. After watching the video I am inspired to try again with my w/c’s. It does not come naturally to me but I so want to learn how to do it well.
Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful peonies combined with YOUR incredible talent to bring them to life!
Oh my goodness! Your card is wonderfu and your watercolor technique is fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
so very pretty!!
Debby what a lovely card with a beautiful muted vibe. I just don’t know how you can trim down that beautiful painting to a card front size! I hope you have a use for the gorgeously painted trimmings
Debby, as usual ☺ your work is exquisite! I remember when you were taking classes and delving into pencil and watercolour (at least for your card videos). It encouraged me to keep trying. Well, YOU have Mastered the technique of shading and detail! ♥ I love the delicate beauty you achieve…it encourages me to KEEP trying! ☺ (My brain doesn’t seem to grasp shading!…but I can enjoy the ‘trying’.) THANK YOU for the wonderful videos and tips! ♥
Absolutely gorgeous Debby! Thank-you for guiding us along with your video……
LOVE your colors! The perylene green is gorgeous with any flower color…it is not too bright or electric– just perfect. This card was definitely time well spent on your part– I would love to be by your side to watch you work. I am trying your 3 brush technique, and if I don’t drop the brushes, it works very well! :) I am still practicing my water balance, but using different brushes really helps the process.Thank you for sharing your talent and techniques.
