There is a wide range of different techniques for watercolouring flowers from the very loosest of simple brush marks to ultra-detailed, realistic paintings. My preference is somewhere in between, but more towards the loose side; it’s a play between faded hints at what is there and yet other areas where you can still define flowers and leaves and they do have some detail to them. In today’s video, I have hints and tips as to how I like to add the loose look to watercoloured flowers from stamped images using the Magnolia Cottage stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. So lovely! Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
Always beautiful Debby! Another masterpiece!
I love watching you paint and color. I need to practice more but I would also like to know what brushes you are using. You list your other supplies but I do not see your watercolor brushes listed. What kinds do you typically use? Thank you
Hi Rhonda,
I like Escoda Versatil (more pricey) or Princeton Heritage 4050 (more reasonably priced). I’d recommend a size 2 and size 4 round for card making. Hope that helps and have a lovely, creative weekend!
I love to watch your process! I always learn more about water coloring and try to incorporate your techniques into my cards. Layers, layers, layers for more depth. Beautiful results! Thank you for inspiring me!
Gorgeous colouring Debby, your love of watercolouring shows in your awesome work.
Thank you so much for sharing your inspiration, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.
Beautiful cards. I love to watch you create your cards. Thank you.
