Today, I’m delighted to be joining Simon Says Stamp for a blog hop to celebrate their new Make Merry release. More details on the hop below, but for now I am keeping with the season and celebrating all the leaves! I’ve linked all supplies with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
WATERCOLOURED DIE-CUT LEAVES #1
The colours of autumn are my absolute favourite, and so I made two cards using the leaves I’d made with the Autumn Leaves stamp and die set, but I could’ve made so many more!
KEY INGREDIENTS
- Simon Says Stamp Autumn Leaves
- CZ Design Clean Line Gratitude
- Simon Says Stamp Tiny Dots Stencil
- Watercolours – I used Daniel Smith paints
STEP BY STEP HOW TO
- Stamp all the leaves from the Autumn Leaves set in clear embossing ink on Fabriano Watercolour Card and heat emboss with Antique Gold powder.
- Die-cut the leaves with the matching Autumn Leaves dies.
- Pick some autumn watercolours (I used Daniel Smith paints) and loosely paint the leaves. Leave some areas unpainted, other areas with intense colour, let the colours mix and blend.
- Splatter with white gouache, leftover paint and Liquid Pixie Dust.
- On a piece of Fog card, swipe white embossing paste through the Tiny Dots stencil and leave to dry.
- Stamp a greeting from the Clean Line Gratitude set in clear embossing ink and heat emboss with Antique Gold powder. Trim to a banner and add a skinny strip of gold card to the bottom edge.
- Add foam adhesive to the back of the sentiment panel and adhere the leaf stems to the underside of the strip.
- Add foam adhesive to the leaves and attach to the Fog card base.
- Add the Fog panel to an Ivory card base with foam tape.
- Stamp a coordinating greeting from the Clean Line Gratitude set in clear embossing ink on Slate card and white heat emboss. Trim and add underneath the main sentiment strip.
- Randomly apply Distress Collage Medium to the leaves and sprinkle with Distress Mica Flakes for a frosty look.
- Accent with Copper Penny and Duck Egg Nuvo droplets and Eggshell pearls.
