It’s time for my monthly video feature over at Simon Says Stamp – Doodling With Debby. Over the coming few days I’ll be sharing cards with easy watercolour backgrounds and today’s cards have a simple gradient watercolour wash which is great paired with the Tumbling Hearts stencil and Nuvo Glimmer Paste and provides the perfect backdrop to the You Are Loved dies. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
I hope you will pop over to Simon’s Blog to see the details and video :D
BOOK REVIEW
The simple watercolour background I am sharing today and the ones I’ll be sharing over the next few days were inspired by working through the early chapters of the Modern Watercolor Botanicals book by Sarah Simon (USA and UK). I’ve been a long term fan of Sarah, following her on Instagram @themintgardener and was delighted to see her release a couple of books. I got this Modern Watercolor Botanicals book for Christmas and have been very impressed with Saran’s teaching style and attention to detail. If you have some Christmas pennies to spend or a book voucher I’d highly recommend this book. Sarah also has a colouring page style book, The Plant Lady which I don’t have yet but looks beautiful too.

You make it look so darn easy. Beautiful card.
Like the softly colored background, Debby. Thanks for directing me to sss. Also, thanks for the book review. I’ll be saving pennies for this.
Such a beautiful design and oh so pretty. And this watercolour with the stencil I think is easy enough for us novice water colours and card makers to create a similar look. I just love reading and watching all your video’s as your talent I hope can rub off on me somehow!
That book looks amazing! Gorgeous card!
