I do love some die-cut foliage! So I was immediately drawn to the Leafy Christmas Tree dies from the recent Simon Says Stamp Diecember release. There are three dies in the set cutting different shaped leaves which can be used together for a fuller tree or singularly as I have done here for a simpler, pared back version. This post is part of a blog hop to celebrate the Simon Says Stamp release. You’ll find more details on the hop at the end of this post. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. DIE CUT CHRISTMAS TREE
To start this card, I die-cut one of the Leafy Christmas Tree dies from Arches Cold Pressed watercolour card and lightly watercoloured with Daniel Smith paints. I used leftover paint and white gouache to splatter over the die-cut and then set aside to dry.
Meanwhile, I ink blended a panel of white card with Stormy Sky and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. I then stamped the Leaves and Berries Background in clear embossing ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I rubbed a little more ink over the top of the panel to make the background pattern stand out more and splattered with white gouache.
I die-cut the background piece with an A2 Thin Frames die and then adhered the Christmas Tree die-cut over the top with foam adhesive.
For the sentiment, I die-cut the Merry Frame from Bazzill Marshmallow card three times and mounted one on top of the other for a sturdy embellishment which I added to the tree with Gina K Connect Glue. I stamped a coordinating greeting from the Clean Line Christmas set in clear embossing ink on Black card and white heat embossed before trimming to a skinny banner and adding with foam adhesive.
From a little sparkle, I added Diamonds and Pearls from Little Things from Lucy’s cards.
Finally, I mounted the finished panel on a card base cut and scored from Bazzill Marshmallow card and paired it with an Metallic White envelope.
MORE INSPIRATION
I have a couple of other blog posts using the new Diecember release if you’ve not seen them yet. This one here uses the Detailed Leaf Cluster and A7 Thin Frames dies.
Whereas this blog post here uses the Winter Wishes Circle, Winter Foliage Frame, A2 Thin Frames and A7 Thin Frames.

PIN ME
Summary of the project which gives all the views of the card in one photo :D I’d love if you pinned and called by on Pinterest :D
Absolutely in love with the background with the ink blending and clear embossing. The white splatter on the leaves makes it really look like snow.
Such gorgeous cards! I want to be like you when I grow up!
Beautiful Cards!!
Wonderful cards, Debby! My favorite is the one with the red! :)
