At home, we have started a few home improvements and I’ve been spending some time on Pinterest, as you do, looking for ideas. I kept coming across holiday chalkboards on my journey and it’s been a while since I created a chalkboard effect card and so I reached for my white pigment ink and here we are! I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
CHRISTMAS CHALKBOARD
The basis of this card is the chalkboard panel with the gorgeous script sentiment from the Holiday Greetings Mix 1 set from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped the greeting on a Black card with clear embossing ink and white heat embossed. I trimmed the panel to fit top to bottom on an A2 card and then gently rubbed white pigment ink around the edges with my fingers. Simple but oh so effective!
Although it is difficult to see in these photos, I stamped the front of a Neenah Desert Storm card base with the Gingham Background set in clear embossing ink for a tone on tone look and a bit of extra interest to the background. I wrapped the chalkboard panel with twine and added it to the card front with foam adhesive.
For the embellishments, I die cut the Christmas Foliage and Grace Snowflake dies from cold-pressed watercolour card and painted with gouache. I rubbed Ranger Multi Medium Matte on the pine leaves and dunked them into Rock Candy Distress Glitter. I then tucked the die cuts into and around the twine and topped it with a bow kept in place with a glue dot.
I added Pink And Main Silver Glossy Dots and then topped all the berries with a coating of Ranger Glossy Accents to finish.
