Today is a little crazy around here! This is my second blog post of potentially three! If you are here to see the Gina K STAMPtember collaboration set then keep scrolling or click here.
I’m always happiest when I have a beautiful floral to watercolour, and the new Poppy Hawthorn stamp and matching die set from Waffle Flower designed by Karla Jodoin are making me very happy! Today’s post is part of a blog hop to celebrate the new Waffle Flower release, and you can find more details of the hop below. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
I usually use Antique Linen Distress Ink when I want to no-line watercolour, but seeing as I knew I wanted warm pinky-orange autumn tones for these flowers I decided to stamp the large bouquet from the Poppy Hawthorn set in Tattered Rose Distress Ink on Arches cold-pressed watercolour card. As with Antique Linen Distress Ink, Tattered Rose is light in colour and easily blends with the watercolours to leave a no-line watercoloured look. I used Daniel Smith watercolours with Faber Castell pencils for details and Winsor & Newton white gouache for highlights. I used the matching Poppy Hawthorn dies to cut out the bouquet.
For the sentiment, I stamped a hello greeting from the Poppy Hawthorn set in clear embossing ink on Black card, white heat embossed and die cut with the matching die. I added the sentiment overlapping the flowers and kept in place with more foam adhesive.
As mentioned above, today’s blog post is part of a hop to celebrate the new release. Hopefully, you’ve arrived here from Waffle Flower’s blog but if not then that is a great place to start.
Now it’s time to hop along to ….
