Often, the simplest cards are the ones that speak to me more – clean design and pop of colour are all I really want. For this card, I borrowed the jar from the Plantiful Puns set from Simon Says Stamp, added a few pencils from the School Days set and with a quick wash of watercolour I was done! I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
WATERCOLOURED TEACHER THANK YOU
I started by stamping the jar from the Plantiful Puns set in Antique Linen on Arches cold-pressed watercolour card. The jar has writing on it, but I just inked the outline. I then stamped the pencil image from the School Days set three times, again in Antique Linen Distress Ink.
The pencils have writing on them, but when loosely watercoloured the light ink disappears and blends in with the paints. I used Daniel Smith watercolours, then final details with Faber Castell pencils and white highlights with Winsor & Newton white gouache.
I die cut the watercoloured panel with a Wonky Rectangle die and then foam mounted it onto a panel of kraft card and then in turn foam mounted onto an Ivory card base.
For the sentiment, I took a greeting from the School Days set and stamped it in clear embossing ink on Black card and white heat embossed before trimming it to a banner and adding with foam adhesive.
And that’s all there is to this card, such a simple design and yet I love it so much more than a complex one – clean and simple for the win!
