Hello! Today I am delighted to share a watercoloured die cuts card that I made with new products from the Simon Says Stamp Believe In You release which just went live. Aren’t those die cuts (Sunflower Stem, Cosmos Stem and Daisy Stem) so elegant and gorgeous and I can’t get enough of that Scallop Waves background – I think I’ve used it on every card I’ve made since I got the new release! It’s so versatile, today the scallops complement the flowers in a cloud-like way, but I’ve used it for a cake card where the scallops complemented the curves of the icing and on a sea life card where the scallops could be waves (see below for a sneak peek). Anyway, let’s crack on! I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
SIMON SAYS STAMP BELIEVE IN YOU
Here’s a look at what is included in the new release.

There’s a great mix of summer related and floral products as well as a few new items looking ahead to the changing season and the return to school. Also, there are a few dies that coordinate with previously released stamp sets. Lots to be keeping busy with over the summer weeks!
WATERCOLOURED DIE CUTS
I started this card by die cutting each of the Sunflower Stem, Cosmos Stem and Daisy Stem from Cold Pressed watercolour card. When die cutting I carefully lifted the die-cut sandwich so that the die cuts remained in the die and then rubbed a piece of masking paper over them and lifted the whole of the die-cut including the die-cut petal pieces in one go. This way I could paint the whole of each die cut as one piece. You could remove the petal pieces and have those separately or remove them entirely to leave just a delicate outline to the petals, but I chose to keep them in place. Once I’d finished watercolouring each piece, splattering with leftover paint and white gouache I left them to dry and then added foam adhesive to the back of each flower head making sure to have the base of each petal covered by the adhesive to keep them in place.
I set the flowers aside while I worked on the background. I stamped the Scallop Waves Background onto Hot Pressed watercolour card (smooth for a good impression) with clear embossing ink and white heat embossed. I then lightly watercoloured the background and splattered with leftover paint. I trimmed the panel to be just smaller than an A2 card, wrapped twine around the panel and foam mounted to a card base cut and scored from Neenah Desert Storm card. For the sentiment, I stamped a greeting from the Thanks & Encouragement set in clear embossing ink on Slate card and white heat embossed before trimming to a skinny banner.
I tucked the stems of the three die cut flowers under the twine bow and used the foam adhesive to keep the flower heads in place. I added an extra piece of foam to the Cosmos flower centre to pop it up and lifted the loose edges of all the petals to curve inwards and give more dimension. I added a twine bow held in place with a glue dot and added the sentiment with foam adhesive. Finally, I accented the card with Pink Orchid, Simple White, Duck Egg Blue and Sugared Almond Nuvo drops and Lilac Blooms and Sunken Treasure sequins.
SNEAK PEEK
There is a two-day blog hop to celebrate the Believe In You release, and I’m taking part on Saturday with a duo of cards using that Scallop Waves Background again and also the Birthday Sweets and Never Stop Swimming sets. I hope you’ll call by to take part in the blog hop. In the meantime, peruse the Believe In You release here.
