SIMON SAYS STAMP NEW RELEASE

WATERCOLOURED FRENCHIE
So back to those cute Frenchies – I mean how adorable are they! I chose one of the images from the Chillin’ Frenchies set and stamped it in Gina K Whisper ink on cold pressed watercolour card. The light outline will give me a guide to paint and will disappear as the darker colours of the image are painted.
I find it helpful to look up an image on my phone to give me a guide for colouring and I noted that Frenchies often have that darker muzzle, light tan coat and usually a white chest area and so I used my Daniel Smith watercolours and attempted to get colours closest to those I saw on my phone. I’ve only been to one baseball match – Jennifer McGuire took a group of us to see the Cincinnati Reds and so I painted the cap in a red to match. You could go to town on the cap and add emblems and badges etc. for your local team.
I added more depth with Faber Castell pencils and a few highlights with a white gel pen and then die cut the panel with a Rounded Corner Rectangles die.
I stamped part of the sentiment from the Chillin’ Frenchies set in Versafine Onyx Black ink and then combined the rest of the sentiment on a piece of hot pressed watercolour card (smooth for a clear impression) which I painted red and then stamped in clear embossing ink and white heat embossed before trimming to a banner and adding with foam adhesive. I also used foam adhesive to attach the panel to a Desert Storm card base. To accent, I added Crystal Glaze to the eyes, nose and tongue and then squeezed Dragon Scales and Cloud 9 Dream Drops from Nuvo in a triangle around the focal image.
So there you go, you can check out the whole of the new release from Simon here. I’ll be back on Friday as part of day 2 of a two-day hop to celebrate the latest release. I hope you’ll join me then.

Absolutely gorgeous card. You’ve made him so irresistible! I had already started putting together an order, but hadn’t included this set. Now I’m seriously considering, because I’d love to try out the colouring technique you used on the dog. Amazing! Thank you.
