SIMON SAYS STAMP FRESH BLOOM RELEASE
So let’s take a look at what’s included in the new Fresh Bloom release.

CHERRY BLOSSOM TREES
I have two simple heat embossed cherry blossoms cards to share. The first, I think is my favourite, it uses Tattered Rose and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide inks blended over a piece of Neenah Solar White card.
I used the Clouds For Days stencil to apply a very light cloudy background and then when the inks were fully dry, I stamped the beautiful cherry blossom tree from the Blossoming set in clear embossing ink and white heat embossed.
Rather than try and colour in the blossoms, I simple splattered with white gouache and gold iridescent paint. To bring in texture and more colour I added pink sequins and pearls.
For the sentiment, I stamped one of the inspiring greetings from the Blossoming set in clear embossing ink on Slate card and white heat embossed before adding over the ink blended panel with foam adhesive.
Inspired by Kristina Werner’s Distress Oxide ink blending series, I decided to try another colour combination. This time I blended Tattered Rose with Evergreen Bough. Where the two colours mix you almost get a grey-lilac colour forming which felt more calming and so for this card I paired the panel with an elegant sympathy sentiment from the Blossoming set.
I again added pink sequins and also some dusky blue-green sequins too to being in the colours from this card. I remember debating with someone about using sequins on a sympathy card and I’ll never forget the response that the sequins are like sparkling memories.
I mounted each of the cards on a card base cut and scored from Ivory card.
MORE INSPIRATION
From soft and muted to bold and bright in one fell swoop! There are two blog hops coming soon to celebrate the new Fresh Bloom release, one tomorrow and one on Saturday. I’ll be sharing this card on Saturday which uses the new Pretty Peonies Background (simply gorgeous!) along with the Triangle Blast Stencil and sentiment from Buttercup. I hope you’ll call back then to see this card :D
