Today I have a quick post – no video I’m afraid as I made this when it was dark the other night. I recently received a few of the new Lawn Fawn Spring release products, and I was just itching to get them out. This card uses the Butterfly Kisses stamp set, and the Fancy Lattice Backdrop die. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
CUTE WATERCOLOURED SCENE
I did start to stamp and Copic colour the critters from the Butterfly Kisses set. I even managed (after a few attempts) to mask one of the little back feet of the rabbit to match our cute three-legged bunny, Fluffy. However, you know me, my love of watercolours runs strong, and so I stamped this little scene using Versafine Onyx Black ink on a watercolour card. I didn’t try and mask the rabbit foot this time around as it had taken a few attempts before and I didn’t want to waste precious watercolour card.
Having set the scene, I then used Daniel Smith watercolours to paint the cute critters. After which I splattered with white gouache and leftover paint before adding accents – Faber Castell pencil for more shading and details (net, fox fur etc), a white gel pen (polka dots on the butterflies and rabbit), black glaze pen (for shiny eyes and noses) and finally a sparkle pen (butterflies, clouds and pink areas of rabbit). I die cut the finished scene with a Nested Circle die from Simon Says Stamp.
For the background, I ran a piece of Fog card through my Platinum die cutting machine with the Fancy Lattice Backdrop die and an embossing mat so that the pattern of the die was dry embossed into the card. I attached the panel to a Wendy Vecchi white card base with foam tape and used more foam tape to centre the watercoloured circle on top. For the sentiment, I stamped a greeting from the Butterfly Kisses set in clear embossing ink and white heat embossed before trimming to a skinny banner and foam mounting on the watercoloured circle. Finally, I added a trio of Butterfly Kisses sequins held in place with Gina K Connect glue.
Have you checked out the Lawn Fawn Spring release yet? It is, of course, filled with lots of fabulous cuteness which undoubtedly brings a smile to my face and to my son’s as it turns out. When he saw this card, he said it was the nicest card I’d made in a while, which is excellent, because I was making it for his birthday next month! Fluffy, the rabbit is one of his pets, and the Butterfly Kisses stamp set suited a card for him perfectly.

It is such a sweet card, beautiful executed as we have come to expect. Love the stamp set. Really lovely background too. I’ve never tried using a die in this way. I think I need to have a go. Thank you Debby. Have a lovely weekend.
Oh Debby, I love your water colouring, it always amazes me at the talent you folks have to be able to do this so naturally. I struggle to learn but will continue to do so until I can create something I am pleased with. This is awesome!
Not cute Debby but Very Cute!! Lovely card and great what you did with the awesome background die.
