PINKFRESH STUDIO OCTOBER RELEASE
|
I love a simple, delicate die cut and inspired by this gorgeous card by May Park; I got out my PinkFresh watercolours for this hot autumn watercoloured background. I taped a piece of Arches cold pressed watercolour card to a board and brushed water across it before bringing in the watercolours. I used Sunshine, Clementine and Candy Apple and while the watercolours were still wet, I dropped in some Finetec gold too.
You can see a little of the shimmer from the Finetec here when I turn the card to the light. I splattered with more of the gold and also white gouache then set my background aside while I worked on the rest of the card.
I die cut all of the Dainty Blossoms dies from Neenah Solar White card. I used one on this card and the rest on the cards I’ll show later in this post. I also die cut a couple of the dies from Simon Says Stamp glitter card. I then die cut a Noteworthy Frame into the watercoloured background and tucked the die cut stems through. The Noteworthy Frames don’t fully cut the frame instead the sides are left intact allowing for a great place to add or sentiment or in this case to wrap twine and tie a bow.
For the sentiment, I used the new My Favorite Things To Say set which is filled with inspiring greetings. I cut apart the sentiment I chose and stamped it in clear embossing ink on Slate card and white heat embossed before trimming to banners and adding with foam adhesive. I added the panel with foam adhesive to a white card base and then finally accented with sequins.
This is a beautiful laser cut paper piece of art that I got from Nineteen Alexandra Road, and it inspired this simple set of four cards.
I pulled out four colours which I found inspiring together for this time of year – sort of autumnal with the Burnt Orange and Sunshine but the Cotton Candy and Black mix it up a little. Again, I used one of the Noteworthy Frames to die cut a focal point in each panel and then picked a lovely script sentiment from the My Favorite Things To Say set and stamped in clear embossing ink before white heat embossing on each panel.
I used the remainder of the Dainty Blossoms die cuts I had left over from my first card and tucked them through the slots left by the die cut frame. I accented each card with a trio of enamel dots (so old now I no longer know where they came from) and then mounted the panels on white card bases.
If you particularly fancy an autumn hit? Then the stepped-up watercoloured version of this card particularly tones well with the Sunshine and Burnt Orange paired back, simple versions. Which is your favourite? Stepped-up or clean and simple?

All your cards are pretty but the stepped up version is really perfect for this time of year. These delicate die cuts are so intricate and pretty they can really stand on there own. TFS.
What a gorgeous background panel for that first card! I’m loving how wonderfully CAS that set of cards is too. Wonderful riff on your inspiration!
Gorgeous cards! I love the bright, vibrant colors with the gold added on the first card. Love the card set as well.
Debby, it’s near impossible to pick a favorite because I’m usually a CAS gal, but I adore the watercolored one with the dainty blooms. Your foursome looks awesome also. Win-win for me!
Beautiful cards. I love how bright that first one is and the sentiment is so on point! The second set of cards while simple are just so pretty. Perfect cards to just say hello.
So many gorgeous cards and designs! The first one is definitely my favourite – I love the bold colours, and the mix of white with glitter cardstock – it looks beautiful together!
Hmm, that first card has a message that I need to hear. Not necessarily that I want to hear, but I need it. However, when it comes with such beautiful art behind it, it makes the message more acceptable. Also, I really like how you did both a more intricate version and the more modern, clean versions with the same die sets. It’s great to see how many different ways one can use the same product. Thanks for sharing!
Oh my gosh! These cards are all so pretty. I especially love the oranges/Fall colors in the first card. And the other 4 are just so simple and lovely. This release is awesome!
Fabulous cards, girl. Those are so crisp and elegant. AWESOME!!!! Great work! You rock!
