How about a rustic Holiday scene for today’s card using the Neat & Tangled STAMPtember set Holiday Helpers. This set is so adorable, and I had great fun creating this scene. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
HOLIDAY HELPERS
I stamped the various elements from the Holiday Helpers set to create the scene using Versafine Onyx Black ink on Arches Cold Pressed watercolour card. I then sketched in a mountain backdrop, a few trees and shrubs and some scrubby grassy bits sticking up through the snow. I used Daniel Smith watercolours to paint the scene and can I just take a moment to extol the virtues of Moonglow as the perfect colour for snowy shadows. I add lots of water for a dilute mix and then it’s subtle grey/lilac tones are perfect for adding shadows to the white areas while still letting them read as white. If that makes sense!
After painting, I rubbed a little Ranger Multi Medium Matte in a few places and sprinkled with Rock Candy Distress Stickles Dry Glitter and Vintage Platinum Distress Glitter. It’s a little hard to see, but in real life, they add a lovely sparkle to the trees, bushes and grassy areas.
You can perhaps see the sparkle a little better in this picture.
I added the watercoloured piece to a red card mat (old 12×12 stash of Bazzill card) and wrapped with twine. I then foam mounted the panel to a Neenah Desert Storm card base on which I’d added a mat of patterned paper (Simple Stories from a couple of years ago I believe).
For the sentiment, I stamped a greeting from the Holiday Helpers set in clear embossing ink on red card and white heat embossed before trimming to a skinny banner and tucking under the twine bow with foam adhesive.

Summary of the project which gives all the views of the card in one photo :D I’d love if you pinned and called by on Pinterest :D
Wow Debby! What an amazing card you’ve made from these really cute stamps. I love the composition, the colouring, everything about it really. I usually get a few of the STAMPtember sets but you have to be really quick don’t you? I missed out on this one so I must remember to check every day so that doesn’t happen again! It certainly seems very autumnal down in Kent this morning, and your card has made me feel very wintery…….in a good way though.
Love this card so much, Debby! The beautiful background makes this so special.
Great job Debby! What a gorgeous card and a awesome background you made. Thank you so much for your time and effort to show this masterpiece.
