It’s the turn of Altenew for their STAMPtember collaboration set with Simon Says Stamp and they’ve pulled out all the stops with a gorgeous floral set, Dainty Sprig. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
ALTENEW DAINTY SPRIG
The leaves are turning here, there’s a definite change in the air and I’m feeling all autumnal and so I decided to create a fall flower card using the Dainty Sprig set. On a piece of Hot Pressed watercolour card, I applied a wash of Daniel Smith watercolours from Quinacridone Gold at the top, through Quinacridone Sienna and then mixing the latter with Ultramarine Blue to get a rich grey-brown with lovely variation.
I stamped the Dainty Sprig image with clear embossing ink and then white heat embossed. I splattered with leftover paint, Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine and also white gouache and then when dry die cut the panel with a Wonky Rectangle die. I wrapped the panel with Lawn Fawn twine and mounted on a Fog card base. I stamped a sentiment from the Dainty Sprig set in clear embossing ink on Dark Chocolate card and white heat embossed before trimming to a banner and adding over the panel with foam adhesive. Finally, I added a sprinkling of Autumn Sparkle sequins and Dark Walnut and Copper Penny Nuvo droplets.

PIN ME
Summary of the project which gives all the views of the card in one photo :D I’d love if you pinned and called by on Pinterest :D
This card is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous, from the background colours to the white heat embossing, I’ve never stamped clear ink on a coloured background then heat imbossed, well I’m going to try it today, can I ask, what do you think of the lift off stamp pad?
Yay Andrea I’m so glad you are going to give this ago. As for the lift-off stamp pad, I’m currently working on improving my alcohol ink technique. The new Simon Says Stamp card kit came with three and weirdly I’ve never tried alcohol inks before. Once I get some nice results going with the inks I’ll be able to experiment more with the lift off pad and I’ll let you know :D
Very sweet!!
Love your card Debby. It’s just such a different way to use a floral stamp set and it’s really beautiful. The colours you’ve chosen perfectly reflect the Autumn season. Thank you for sharing your design and techniques with us.
Debby, your card is exquisite. Isn’t this special set by Altenew perfect for card makers? Thanks for sharing the steps you used to create it. Those Autumn colors are so rich and vibrant.
Such a delightful autumn card, Debby! This background is simply fabulous and I can’t wait to give a try myself.
Love that card. The background is so vibrant with the simplicity of the white line embossing.
I love Atumn colours and you catched the gorgeous colours on your background so very well. Love the idea that you white heat embost the stamp on this awesome background, would never thought of doing that. Thank you so much for this amazing card and the great idea!
