I had great fun with the Earth Has Music set earlier this week colouring with pencil on kraft for a bold pop of colour. I loved this unique set so much that I just had to reach for the feathery images again for today’s simple wedding card. This time though I wanted a much softer feel in keeping with a wedding card, with just a pop of bright pink here and there. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. I started with the background and used the gorgeous PinkFresh liquid watercolours on Arches Cold Pressed watercolour card. Just look at how vibrant they are, but when diluted they can still create a lovely soft background. Once dry I splattered with Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine, cut down and mounted on an Ivory card base.
I love heat embossing on vellum as an elegant way to showcase the line art of an image and so for this card I stamped one of the feather images from the Earth Has Music set twice in clear embossing ink on vellum and white heat embossed one, and then antique gold embossed the other before fussy cutting them out and foam mounting over the soft background.
For the sentiment, I wanted to pull some of the vibrant pink colour from the background. Although it is significantly diluted, you can still see that warmth and colour peeking through in places, and I wanted to bring that out more. I stamped a sentiment from the Floral Bliss set in clear embossing ink on Doll Pink card and white heat embossed before trimming to a skinny banner and foam mounting over the feathers.
Finally, I added a hot pink twine bow and a trio of toning Crystal Reflections sequins.
