Today’s post is part of a blog hop to showcase the new Friendly Frolic release from Simon Says Stamp. More on the hop below. I created this no line pencils on kraft card using the Sketch Lotus Flowers set. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
On a piece of Toned Grey card, I stamped the Sketch Lotus Flower arrangement in clear embossing ink for a tone on tone look that I could then see and colour easily with Faber Castell pencils.
I added a white gel pen accents to the petals and a few black glaze pen dots to the Lotus flower seed head. I never knew that is what a lotus flower seed head looked like until I came to colour this in and googled it to get a reference.
For the sentiment, I stamped one of the greetings from the Sketch Lotus Flowers set in clear embossing ink on Vellum and white heat embossed before trimming to a banner.
I die cut the panel with a Wonky Rectangle die, folded the sentiment banner over the edge of the panel, wrapped with twine and foam mounted on an Ivory card base. As a final accent, I added a trio of Butterfly Kisses sequins and then paired the card with a Plum Punch envelope from Gina K.
MORE INSPIRATION
I have a couple of other blog posts using the new Friendly Frolic release. I had great fun with the Big Happy dies, Tabbed Sentiments set, Simple Tabs dies, and Folk Dance Background set along with PinkFresh liquid watercolours. You can find the original post here.
Also, back to school time is rapidly approaching and I used the School Bus Messages set with matching dies for this card. You can find the original post here.
