ALTENEW MARCH STAMP & DIE RELEASE

VIDEO
This Video covers a look at a few of the new stamps & dies and then moves on to make a card with the Sweet Rose Bouquet set. Watch below or in HD on YouTube.
SWEET ROSE BOUQUET
Stamp layering is a fabulous way to create highlights and shadows on an image, and with 4 layers for the flowers and three layers for the leaves, this Sweet Rose Bouquet set packs in a lot of detail. For my card, I chose a subtle palette of grey leaves and a pop of pink for the flowers. I think the neutral tone of the leaves really lets the blooms take centre stage and also has a lovely elegant look too. The inks I used were:
- Leaves – Morning Frost, Evening Gray and Moon Rock
- Flowers – Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious, Rubellite and Razzleberry
Using a scalpel and scissors, I trimmed around the bouquet and then foam mounted it on a panel of white card cut with the Dotted Scales Debossing Cover die. This impresses a lovely subtle pattern which appeals to my love of clean and simple design while still adding just the right amount of detail for interest.
For the sentiment, I cut the Halftone Everything die from Rose Gold glitter card and paired it with a coordinating sentiment from the Halftone Everything set stamped in clear embossing ink on Slate card and white heat embossed before trimming to a skinny banner and foam mounting.
I added a twine bow with a glue dot and a few New Day enamel dots to finish.
MEGA SUCCULENT
Just look at the size of this fantastic Mega Succulent set! I knew immediately that I wanted to get my watercolours out. I stamped the large image in clear embossing ink on Hot Pressed watercolour card, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set.
I played around with my paint mixtures to get lots of exciting colour combinations going on. I used Burnt Sienna and Ultramarine Turquoise to get that hazy grey/blue colour synonymous with succulents and then added touches of Quinacridone Rose to the tips of the leaves.
For the sentiment, I paired a Script Words 2 die cut from Rose Gold glitter card and sentiment from the Mega Succulent set stamped in clear embossing ink on card I’d watercoloured, sprinkled with white embossing powder and then heat set before trimming to a skinny banner and foam mounting. I added the panel to an Ivory card base and then accented with clear droplets.
