This card was one I’ve wanted to do for a while, to break out the Spring Flowers sets from Simon Says Stamp and put together this simple watercoloured card. Do you think if we all make Spring themed cards that the season will arrive sooner?! I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I love the look of no-line colouring for florals with a lovely stamped and masked collection of blooms, but it is more time-consuming. So for this quick card, I stamped a bunch of images from the Spring Flowers and More Spring Flowers sets in clear embossing ink on Arches Hot Pressed Watercolour Card and white heat embossed. I used my favourite Daniel Smith paints to colour and then die cut the images with their matching dies. The advantage of this method is that it is now easy to form a bouquet of blooms together – no masking needed and a bonus is all the extra dimension you get!
I added the flowers with foam adhesive to a panel of Fog card cut with a Wonky Rectangle. I added a simple sentiment by cutting the Oh Hello There die from Slate card and then foam mounting the Hello below the blooms. I added a few sequins and then called this quick and easy watercoloured Spring flowers card done!
Now it’s time for Spring just to hurry along and get here. The daffodils are shooting, and I’m meeting up with a friend at the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh this week, and I’m hoping their snowdrops will be putting on a show :D

PIN ME
Summary of the project which gives all the views of the card in one photo :D I’d love if you pinned and called by on Pinterest :D
Debby, this card is beautiful! I love the dimension of the stacked die cuts and the white embossed outlines. So very pretty! And yes, I’d make floral cards all day if it meant getting rid of the fresh blanket of snow outside (with more on the way_. Our snow covered pines are certainly lovely to look at but I’ve had my fill. Bring on the Spring! :-)
I’ve had my fill of winter too! Spring keeps trying to make an appearance here but I think we have a little way to go yet before we can say goodbye to the odd snow day.
Simply gorgeous!! I always enjoy looking at your projects. You have a beautiful way of watercoloring and creating with your watercolors!!
Gorgeous, you bring spring inside! Thanks and a lot fun this week at the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh.
This is really gorgeous Debby. It’s funny you mentioning spring today and flowers, I have been on the same wave length lately with water colouring flowers and soon going to put them together into cars. Apparently I have been subconsciously dreaming about spring too. LOL
Very pretty, I wish it would be spring sooner, lets try it!!!!
Your painting is beautiful. I love how all the flowers and leaves are popped up. It’s beautiful.
Your coloring is Outstanding–wow!
Gorgeous card, Debby! It really makes me long for Spring – especially after the 8″ of snow we got yesterday.
that’s a lot of snow! ❄️
This is So Pretty. I would like to try watercoloring. Please describe your technique of stamping in Clear embossing ink, then ‘white heat embossing’. Thanks for sharing your inspiring talent with us.
Hi Janelle, white heat embossing is a lovely technique! Great for sentiments but also I love to white heat emboss flowers and then colour them. Here’s a video which shows how to white heat emboss. https://youtu.be/8Xegp73fl6M You can find the flower embossing at around 1 minute 35 seconds and the sentiment embossing at around 6 minutes 45 seconds. Hope that helps!
This is beautiful!
