This card was one I’ve wanted to do for a while, to break out the Spring Flowers sets from Simon Says Stamp and put together this simple watercoloured card. Do you think if we all make Spring themed cards that the season will arrive sooner?! I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I love the look of no-line colouring for florals with a lovely stamped and masked collection of blooms, but it is more time-consuming. So for this quick card, I stamped a bunch of images from the Spring Flowers and More Spring Flowers sets in clear embossing ink on Arches Hot Pressed Watercolour Card and white heat embossed. I used my favourite Daniel Smith paints to colour and then die cut the images with their matching dies. The advantage of this method is that it is now easy to form a bouquet of blooms together – no masking needed and a bonus is all the extra dimension you get!
I added the flowers with foam adhesive to a panel of Fog card cut with a Wonky Rectangle. I added a simple sentiment by cutting the Oh Hello There die from Slate card and then foam mounting the Hello below the blooms. I added a few sequins and then called this quick and easy watercoloured Spring flowers card done!
Now it’s time for Spring just to hurry along and get here. The daffodils are shooting, and I’m meeting up with a friend at the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh this week, and I’m hoping their snowdrops will be putting on a show :D
