ALTENEW FEBRUARY RELEASE NEW INKS
|
Here’s a look at where the new inks fit in. These three pictures show the full range of Altenew Inks with the three new sets circled in red. The new inks are Tea Party (mini cube set, oval cube set), Green Meadows (mini cube set, oval cube set) and Sweet Dreams (mini cube set, oval cube set).
HAPPY BLOOM
I couldn’t resist the new Happy Bloom set with it’s already compiled bouquet of pretty flowers and banner – no masking required at all, just stamp and go! There are coordinating individual flower images and matching dies, so you could stamp and colour more flowers and pop them up to add dimension or to fill out the arrangement further. However, I was happy merely to stamp the lovely group image in Antique Linen Distress Ink and watercolour.
Today, I’m using Altenew’s watercolour palette which is due out soon. I’ll save reviewing that further until it is scheduled for release. There’s been a slight delay on when it was initially intended to be released, but it won’t be long now! Anyway, back to the card, I watercoloured the bouquet, letting the watercolour blend with the stamped image to give a no-lines look. I was undecided on what colour for the background, recently I’ve been drawn to muted tones but for today I went with a beautiful blue to let the flowers pop. After I’d finished painting, I accented with coloured pencils to give more definition.
I kept the card simple from now on, I stamped a birthday sentiment from the Happy Blooms set in Versafine Onyx Black ink, added the watercoloured panel to a Neenah Desert Storm card base and finally accented for Caribbean Dream sequins.
