FOLK DANCE STENCIL
I must admit the snowy winter weather we’ve been having recently made it very tricky for me to get a photograph of all the sparkle on this card! Both the gorgeous Folk Dance Stencil and Streaming Heart are all glittery, but I’m getting ahead of myself slightly in the excitement. I started with the gorgeous Folk Dance Stencil, taped it down to a piece of Neenah Solar White card and blended Scuba, Spring Rain and Mint inks in a gradient. Keeping the stencil in place, I used a palette knife to sweep Nuvo Glimmer Paste over the ink blending. Lifting the stencil was truly a sparkly delight for the eyes!
I set the background to one side to dry while I worked on the focal point. I blended the same trio of inks onto a piece of white card and again spread with a thin layer of Glimmer Paste. Then when dry, I die cut the Streaming Heart die and attached it with foam adhesive to the background panel, trimming off the overhand.
For the sentiment, I die cut the Here For You die several times from white card, sprayed them with 3M spray mount and stacked one on top of the other to form a dimensional and sturdy sentiment. I’ve tried other spray adhesives before and not got on with them – too gloopy, but I thought I’d try again and as I trust 3M’s quality (I use their foam adhesive all the time), I thought I’d give them a go, and I have to say the difference is huge! There will be a lot more stacked sentiments coming from me now LOL.
I adhered the sentiment to the Streaming Heart, following the lines of the heart to angle the direction of the sentiment. I then embellished with a couple of white hearts cut using the Cupid’s Heart Border die and a few Purely Peppermint sequins. I foam mounted the finished panel to a white card base and then dug around to find the perfect matching Mint envelope to go with the card.
