I’m still on my last minute Christmas card push, but this might be my last one before I move on to other projects. I did want to play with the new editions to Simon Says Stamp’s Picture Book die series and chose the Picture Book Polar Bear for this card which is 90% die cutting with only the bow tie being stamped. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I find die cutting a great way to create quick, easy, no fuss cards at this busy time of year. I die cut the Picture Book Polar Bear from white card and again from black card for the eyes and nose and added just a touch of rosy cheeks with an R11 Copic marker.
I also cut the Santa hat from the Picture Book Santa die in Schoolhouse Red and white card and popped that on the polar bear at a jaunty angle. I stamped a bow tie from the Stylish Simon set in Intense Black ink and coloured with Copics before trimming out and adding with foam adhesive.
I also die cut from white card the Pine Needles Trio, a Soft Navy Wonky Rectangle and snowflakes from the Sparkling Breeze die in Silver glitter card.
Oh, and one final die cut was the lovely Fa La La die, again I cut this from Silver glitter card and then it was just a case of putting it all together.
On a Fog card base, I added the navy panel, polar bear, hat, fa la la sentiment and pine needle branches with foam adhesive. I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere the snowflakes and finally popped a couple of Doodlebug Ladybug enamel dots on the pine needles to bring in more of the pop of red.
How’s your Christmas card making going? Have you finished your cards yet? I’m now going to move on to the present wrapping phase. This year I’ve tried hard to buy from makers and small shops and I really enjoy wrapping these gifts with a bit of extra love and care.
