I have a video below taking a look at what’s included in the Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit and creating this card and gift box duo in super quick time using the kit patterned papers and stickers. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I can’t believe how long it’s been since I posted a video to my YouTube channel! I’ve been filming videos for Simon Says Stamp, Online Card Classes, Altenew etc and hadn’t appreciated that it was so long since I’d posted one myself. Well, I’ve made a commitment to turn the camera on more often. That being said, it probably won’t mean you’ll be flooded with videos from me, but one every now and then might pop up. With a view to getting more videos up, some of them might be less than perfect – the autumn has arrived in Scotland and with that, I’m now faced with 6 months of battling the poor light. The colour cast on the video and photos from the rainy day I filmed makes me cringe, but a colour cast video is better than no video!
I’m a slow card maker, enjoying my watercolouring and pushing bits of paper around, deciding what to put where. However, it was truly liberating to sit down with the November Card Kit and put this card and gift box together. I think it took me less than half an hour – the matching papers and stickers make it so easy to compile quick projects.
I like to add dimension to my cards and so I negated the adhesive on the back of the stickers with an EK Success Powder Tool and brush and then added foam adhesive to the back. I think the added dimension allows these stickers to take centre stage rather than blending into the patterned papers.
I added the patterned paper panel to a card base cut and scored from the cream card in the kit and then added a few sequins to accent.
When I love a range of patterned papers, I’m always inspired to make matching gift packaging. I cut a pillow box from the lovely script and gold leaf paper, using strong double sided adhesive to keep it together. I then added another collage of stickers with foam adhesive and more of the same sequins to tie to the colours of the pillow box to the card.
These stickers are so pretty and very versatile too, many I think would make great accents on a wedding card for example.

Summary of the project which gives all the views of the card in one photo :D I’d love if you pinned and called by on Pinterest :D
So pretty. Love this kit and the way everything coordinates. Also love the stamp set with the versatile smaller sentiment phrases complementing the bolder sentiments.
Your card is darling and I’m thinking I just might need that pillow box die. Those little boxes are so perfect for gift cards. Actually, this is a good kit for scrapbookers because of all the little stickers. And for the record, I would LOVE to see more videos of you watercoloring, Debby. :-) Happy Autumn, dear virtual friend!
I’m planning on videoing more often when I can Dori. It might take a while for the videos to filter through as I try and prepare cards a little in advance of when I post them. However, watercolouring will of course be a technique I’ll want to share :D
Just love your style…your sense of color even when you are not doing your extraordinary watercoloring. Looking so forward to more videos.
Wonderful card. It’s always nice to see new and easy ideas. Thank you for sharing.
Your card and gift box are beautiful. Please don’t apologize about your hands. They are lovely. It is so refreshing to focus on the card making instead of crazy nail colors, 3 inch nails and ten rings on the fingers of some I watch,
Thank you
LOL, Dianna, I’m with you there. My ideal manicure would be clean, neat and neutral. Thank you for reminding me not to try and be someone I’m not :D
Your card and pillow box are just lovely Debby. I love all of the cards I have seen made with the stickers in this kit, I would not have thought to use them in this way. However the scene you made is so cute I am rethinking how to use what stickers I have on hand. Thanks for the inspiration.
Sometimes simple supplies such as stickers get overlooked for more complex technique based items but they are a great way to create quick and easy cards :D
I am waiting impatiently for my kit to arrive and the inspiration you have provided has just whetted my appetite even more, gorgeous card Debby.
Thank you Debby, for making time to record this. Greatly appreciated. I do love your videos you are so well spoken and easy to understand. I am jealous of leaden skies and rain.
Ah, I know a number of places that would be only too happy for some rain! I guess I forget that at times and should be grateful for our lush greenery around here.
These are two lovely creations !
Oh Debby, the scene you made with the stickers is delightful and the matching pillbox a wonderful 3D piece! Please don’t worry about your hands not being perfectly manicured; trust me we viewers are all focusing much more on your beautiful creations! So happy you’ll be doing more videos in the future.
