I’ve long loved the copper trend on going in home decor and loved including some coppery leaves in this fairy garden card. In fact I’ve got another card coming soon using more of the peach and copper combination. I think the rich russet colours of the fairy’s dress also tones nicely and gives this card an autumnal feel. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I started by stamping the fairy from the Simon Says Stamp Secret Garden set, die cutting with the matching dies and colouring with Copics. From a white panel of card I die cut the Frond Collage die. I then used some double-sided adhesive sheet to adhere Sunkissed Copper guilding flakes to a piece of white card and then die cut leaves from the Frond Collage die and adhered them over the white ones.
I blended Rosie Cheeks and Melon inks on to a panel of white card and splattered it with paint and Gold Spray. When dry I adhered the white panel and fairy over the top with foam tape. With the bulk of the card now done I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Secret Garden set on to Black card and trimmed in to a skinny strip and again added with foam tape. I mounted the white panel on a Fog card base.
To accent I then added lots and lots of different sparkles – Frosted Lace Stickles to the wings, Star Dust Stickles to the wand, Wink Of Stella to the dress and gold glitter pen and white gel pen dots to the dress! I also dotted around Nuvo drops in Orange Marmalade, Rose Water, Bubblegum Blush and Sugared Almond as well as a few Sweet Shop sequins.
