Today I’m taking a look at the new Altenew July release. This post is part of a blog hop (more details below) to celebrate the latest release. The new release is available now at both Altenew and Simon Says Stamp. There’s more information on the blog hop below, but for now let’s take a look at what’s in the new release. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
In the new release there are also three new sets of inks.
I’ve a lot to share today so I’ll keep my descriptions relatively brief. Starting with the Sketchy Floral set and I chose my current favourite colour scheme of yellow/green with pinks. I stamped the lovely large floral image on Arches cold pressed watercolour card with clear embossing ink and white heat embossed before loosely watercolouring.
For the sentiment I combined the Halftone Everything die cut from white card with a coordinating sentiment from the Halftone Everything stamp set stamped in clear embossing ink on Slate card and white heat embossed. I trimmed and then foam mounted the panel on a Pale Grey card base.
Next I used the Indoor Garden set to create a bunch of cards. I used the same layout using the images from Indoor Garden for each card and then stamped differing sentiments from the Sketchy Floral and Blissful Buds sets.
Using my Mini Misti to make creating multiples easy, I stamped the shelf in Moon Rock and then the outlines of the plants in Versafine Onyx Black. I used a combination of inks to stamp the layers of colour:
Finally I had fun with a little tag and the Get Well Soon set. I do love combining kraft with neutrals to give a homely feel. I started this tag by die cutting a Handmade Tag die from Desert Storm Card and stamping one of the honeycomb images from Get Well Soon set in clear embossing ink to give a tone on tone look. I then stamped the ‘homemade’ from the Handmade Tag stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black Ink.
I took a piece of cream linen and dabbed Wild Honey Distress Ink with a water brush to give a soft haze of yellow. I then stamped the little bee image from the Get Well Soon set in Versafine Onyx Black, trimmed around and sewed the fabric piece to the tag.
