Today being the 15th of the month, Altenew have released their fourth Build A Flower set. This month it is the turn of the stunning Build A Flower Coral Charm – a 6 x 8 set with coordinating dies. This is only available as a set, not individual product. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
ALTENEW BUILD A FLOWER CORAL CHARM
There are a few outline flower images and a leaf sprig in the Coral Charm set. The large flower and leaves also have solid and layering stamps. In addition there are two lovely sentiments. I chose to work with the outline image of the large flower and leaf sprig and my watercolours.
This is a simple card to make, I stamped the images in Antique Linen Distress ink and then watercoloured. As you watercolour the Distress Ink blends in to the paint and fades away to give a no-line watercoloured look. You may be surprised to know that my colour scheme for this watercolour was inspired by the same palette as this vibrant card. It’s the same chartreuse yellow/green with pinks but just much more muted colours.
When dry, I finished off with a few coloured pencil details and then stamped one of the lovely sentiments on the panel in Versafine Onyx Black. I trimmed the panel to just smaller than and A2 Neenah Desert Storm card base and adhered with foam tape. I then added Sweet Shop sequins and Nuvo Limoncello Jewel Drops to accent.

Summary of the project which gives all the views of the card in one photo :D I’d love if you pinned and called by on Pinterest :D
Gorgeous! Love the no line colouring and the depth of colour.
You inspire me to practice more no line painting. I love the colors and the softness of this card.
It’s a lovely technique Deb and so worth giving a go. Concentrate on the shadows and then blending out to the highlights. If the shadows are there then you’ll get that definition between all the petals :D
