The new One Of A Kind release from Simon Says Stamp went live earlier this morning. I’ve got two cards to share with you using one of the new stamp sets – Dancing Fruits. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
ONE OF A KIND RELEASE
First though, let’s take a look at what is included in the new One Of A Kind release.
DANCING FRUITS – SUPPLIES TWO WAYS
I do love to colour a good fruit and was drawn to the Dancing Fruits set. I thought it would be fun to use the same supplies for two cards but use them to get very different results. Both cards use:
- Simon Says Stamp Dancing Fruits
- Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Messages
- Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles die
- watercolour card
- Watercolours
- Versafine Onyx Black ink
- Simon Says Stamp clear embossing ink
- Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red card
- Simon Says Stamp white embossing powder
The only supplies that were different between the cards are the card bases (Neenah Solar White vs Neenah Desert Storm), I used Antique Linen Distress Ink for a no-line watercolour look on the second card and finally the accents are different (Pretty Pink Posh droplets vs enamel dots).
I started this summery card with a piece of watercolour card and stamped the lemon, apple and pear from the Dancing Fruits set multiple times with Versafine Onyx Black ink.
I used a loose watercolour technique to colour the fruits and also watercoloured the background in a summery blue. I splattered the panel with left over paint and a solution of Perfect Pearls.
When dry I cut the panel with a Wonky Rectangle and then stamped a birthday sentiment from the Thoughtful Messages set. I completed the sentiment by stamping the ‘happy’ in clear embossing ink on Schoolhouse Red card, white heat embossing and trimming to a skinny banner before foam mounting on the panel. I foam mounted the finished panel to a white card base and then accented with Pretty Pink Posh droplets.
As a contrast to the summery birthday card I used the same supplies to take this versatile Dancing Fruits set from the summer in to the autumn. Again I started with a piece of watercolour card and stamped the pear, apple and lemon from the Dancing Fruits set with Antique Linen Distress ink. This ink is light enough in colour that as I watercoloured the lines disappeared to give a no-line watercolour look.
I loosely watercoloured a neutral background to the fruits and splattered lightly with left over paint. When dry I cut the panel with a Wonky Rectangle and then stamped the Thanks sentiment from the Thoughtful Messages set in Versafine Onyx Black ink.
Again I completed the sentiment by stamping the ‘happy’ in clear embossing ink on Schoolhouse Red card, white heat embossing and trimming to a skinny banner before foam mounting on the panel. I foam mounted the finished panel to a kraft card base and then accented with enamel dots.
