Yay, my Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit arrived! I had intended watercolouring the gorgeous flower image from the Floral Bliss set with the Daniel Smith dot sheet in the kit. However, when I opened the kit I was struck by the lovely Echo Park patterned paper and quickly whipped up this wedding stationery suite of two cards and envelopes plus coordinating tag. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I actually started these cards by embossing the Floral Bliss image on the v-flap of the lovely metallic ivory envelope. I stamped it in clear embossing ink and heat set with Antique Gold embossing powder – simply gorgeous!
For the card, as I loved the look of the envelope, I went digging around in my stash for a smooth pearlescent ivory card. I was unsuccessful in my search but I did happen upon a metallic olive card and matte pale pink card which matched the patterned paper perfectly. Unfortunately these cardstocks were from a very long time ago (hoarder, me?!) and are no longer available. With my supplies all set I stamped and Antique Gold embossed one of the Floral Bliss sentiment on pink card and then added the lovely black patterned paper on top with a few strips of other papers from the pad too along with a hemp twine bow and a few sequins. I then mounted this panel on a card base made from the metallic olive card.
For my second card I stamped the Floral Bliss image on both pale pink card and a black envelope and heat set with Antique Gold embossing Powder. I also heat embossed one of the sentiments on a scrap of Black card too and then layered up the card and patterned papers in the same way as before.
I always love a matching tag and so I die cut a Stitched Dress Up Tag from metallic olive card and stamped the Floral Bliss image before Antique Gold heat embossing. I then die cut a topper for the tag from the patterned paper and add a few matching paper strips too. The sentiment is another from the Floral Bliss set again Antique Gold embossed on the pale pink card and trimmed out. I threaded the tag with the black twine and added a couple of the iridescent sequins to finish.
I love how this wedding stationery suite came together and it interested me that on this occasion I didn’t reach for the watercolours straight away. It’s always nice to be surprised about what inspires you when you open the kit box.
