ALTENEW MAY 2017 RELEASE
From beautiful blooms to cats to lovely letters and embossing powders, there’s so much to inspire and excite. I’ve got two projects to share today, one using the Enchanted Iris set and secondly the Modern Cats set.
ENCHANTED IRIS
The Enchanted Iris set has two lovely flower stems to create your floral scenes as well as several leaf images too. I stamped a selection of the images in Versafine Onyx Black ink on Arches cold pressed watercolour card and watercoloured before die cutting with their matching dies. I added a few white gel pen and glitter pen accents and then put them to one side while working on the rest of the card.
I loosely watercoloured a light blue background on more Arches card and pressed paint through the Halftone Stencil in places to create extra interest. While everything was drying I die cut the ‘thanks’ from the die set from Gold Mirror card. Now it was a case of simply foam mounting all the elements on to the watercoloured panel and then tying twine around with a bow. I added a sprinkling of sequins and then mounted the card on an Ivory card base.
MODERN CATS
How adorable are these kitties from the Modern Cats set! I stamped the two cats, one in Sand Dunes ink and one in Silver Stone ink and then stamped the details (face, paws etc) in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I also stamped the wool ball in Puffy Heart ink and then stamped again with Purple Wine ink just on the lower part of the image. I ran all the three images through my die cutting machine with the matching dies and then added stripes and extra details to the cats with coloured pencils before setting them to one side while I worked on the background panel.
For the background I blended Mountain Mist ink over the lower part of a piece of Neenah solar white card and then stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink before mounting the cats and wool ball with foam adhesive. I added a couple of sequins and then foam mounted the finished panel to a Pale Gray card base.

PIN ME
Summary of the project which gives all the views of the card in one photo :D I’d love if you pinned and called by on Pinterest :D
I want the Iris stamp and when I win it I am going to make it all different colors. A lot of people used this stamp set and everyone, including you, did a beautiful job with them. I am all about colors and I don’t care if an Iris is supposed to be blue or red or yellow or orange. I love the colors of your Iris.
I like your cat card. I used to have a cat. Her name was Lilly and she lived to be 16. I have a lot of cat stamps because even though I love cats, I don’t have one anymore. I like these cats and your card.
Thanks for showing us you’re really pretty cards and for giving us the chance to win something. I can’t wait to win!
You always do such lovely cards. I am fond of cat cards. Thanks for sharing your design as well as the iris card.
Your irises and cats are coloured so beautifully – such lovely cards!
I have looked at your cards several times now.. I just love the Iris stamp set…and how you worked with them…
I love both cards but I have a special fondness for kitties!
Beautiful cards!! Love the colors on floral card and the kitty card is just adorable. Thank you so much. :-)
Beautiful creations!
Thank you for sharing such beautiful creations
