UCHI’S DESIGN ANIMATION STAMP SET

I was delighted to see the Simon Says Stamp exclusive Uchi’s Design stamp set included in the card kit. Interactive cards really have the wow factor are hugely popular at present and it’s great to see an innovative new way to have an interactive element on a card.
The animation stamps from Uchi’s Design work by moving a black striped piece of acetate. As you move the acetate the stripes align with the stamped image and different parts of the stamped design are revealed and hidden. This gives the impression that the image is moving. I’ve seen this type of animation in children’s books before but never in a stamp so it is great that the May Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp has an exclusive Uchi’s Design stamp set to introduce us to them.
I used the flamingo in my card design and followed the tutorial on Uchi’s Design YouTube channel to construct my card. I paired the flamingo animation with some My Mind’s Eye On Trend 2 patterned papers which had the perfect Flamingos to pair with the stamp set.
I wanted to create elements that flay across the opening for the animation so that when the card wasn’t in motion it still had decorative elements. I cut a tag from the patterned paper and set that at an angle and paired it with a Love die cut from gold card to match the gold foiling of the papers. I decorated the opening (cut with a Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle) for the animation with a Stitched Dress Up Tag and tied twine through the tag so that it draped over the opening too.
