I’m very much enjoying using my colored pencils at the moment. Sometimes I use them to color a whole image, sometimes just to add a few details to a watercolor. For today’s card I’m accenting stamped images with colored pencils. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.

Beautiful Day has to be up there as one of my all time favorite Altenew sets! I love this set as it has beautiful leaves and sprigs which I always think look nice just lightly stamped. You also have the lovely flower which is just the right size to make an impact without overpowering everything else. I stamped three sets of leaves, two sprigs and one flower in Silver Stone ink and then die cut with their matching dies. I then turned to my Altenew inks to give a base layer of detail. For the lines of the leaves I used Moss and Soft Lilac for the flower.

I used Faber Castell pencils to accent the stamped images. For the leaves, I just added light green over the main body of the leaf with a few dark green flicks here and there. I spent more time on the flower and with Kathy Racoosin and her amazing coloring skills in mind, combined purples, yellows, blues and greys.

I kept the rest of the card clean and simple. On a Stitched Rectangle of white card I stamped the Hello from Amazing You in clear embossing ink. So that it would stand out nicely from the white, I embossed with an Antique Gold powder. I gathered the flower and leaves around the white panel and then adhered them to a kraft panel on a white card base.
