These puddle ducks are an add-on set to the new February Hero Arts My Monthly Hero and totally remind me of the characters from children’s books! Today’s post is part of a blog hop to celebrate the kit release (more details below), but for now lets take a closer look at the kit and the add-ons. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Hero Arts February My Monthly Hero
Kit contents:
- 1 4X6 clear stamp set
- 20 coordinating dies
- 1 coordinating stencil, with several cutouts included
- 1 Soft Sky ink cube
- 1 sponge for daubing
- 2 thin rolls of glitter washi tape in blue and silver
- 1 skein silver embroidery thread
- Vellum in blue and patterned white
The kit value is over $70, an amazing deal at $34.99. The kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. Kits begin shipping from Hero Arts on Monday, February 13. The good news is that you can now subscribe to receive the kit monthly and never miss one!
In addition to the kit there are a bunch of fun add-ons which are available at both Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp.
- Raining Cats And Dogs stamp set
- Fun In The Rain stamp set
- Rain Or Shine stamp set
- Nesting Clouds Infinity dies
- Cloud Raindrop Confetti Fancy Die
- Raining Fluff Frame Cuts
- Fun in the Rain Frame Cuts
OK so back to my card and I’ve used the sweet Fun In The Rain add-on set, the matching dies and Nesting Clouds Infinity dies.
On a piece of watercolor card I stamped the bear, mama duck and ducklings from Fun In The Rain in Versafine Onyx Black and watercolored before die cutting with the matching dies. I put these to one side while I worked on another piece of watercolor card for the background. I stamped the puddles and rain drops in clear embossing ink and then white heat embossed before loosely watercoloring a splotchy ground and background. I splattered paint and perfect pearls solution too and then when dry I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black. I partially die cut the top of the panel with a Nesting Clouds infinity die.
I foam mounted the background and critters on to a Desert Storm card base and then accented the rain drops with a couple of Nesting Clouds cut from vellum and a sprinkling of sequins.
