This is my first post as part of the Neat & Tangled Design Team and what a wonderful new set to kick off the New Year! I don’t know if you remember the Neat & Tangled Nuts About You Stamptember set for Simon Says Stamp that was such an amazing success it sold it in a flash. I adored that set and made this card. Well the adorable squirrels are back with this My Favorite Nut set! I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
The My Favorite Nut set has a great combination of cute images and punny sentiments. I took the large nut and squirrel duo image and stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black ink on Arches watercolor card and then watercolored with my usual palette. For my Stamptember version, I used autumnal browns and oranges but for today I went for a fresh colorway of spring green and ochre. When dry I stamped the sentiment on the nut in Versafine Onyx Black. I also added some Faber Castell pencil details and Spica glitter pen and white gel pen accents.
I foam mounted the nut on a softly watercolored background panel and then on to a Fog card base. As a final touch I white heat embossed and watercolored a couple of the hearts from the My Favorite Nut set and added these, a twine bow and a couple of the new sequins in pink and purple to accent.
The new Neat & Tangled sets including this My Favorite Nut set will be available from Neat & Tangled and Simon Says Stamp at 8am EST on Friday 06 January :D In the meantime I’ll be back throughout the week with more sneak peeks :D

Omg Debby, this is sooo stinkin cute!! I love the beautiful non traditional watercoloring colors, it’s my favorite. I missed out on SSS’s set but this one’s not going to get away from me, lol. Happy New Year to you! I can’t wait to see what’s up your sleeve this coming year. Sorry I’ve been quiet on posting comments on your work the past few weeks but my father in law of almost 30 years passed away the day before our Thanksgiving. The holidays were pretty sad as he was the last of my hubby and I’s parents. Thanks for sharing your talents and always inspiring.
