Grab a cup of tea and pull up a chair as I’ve a lot to share today! This post is part of a blog hop to celebrate the latest release of Altenew’s stamps and dies the new release is available now at both Altenew and Simon Says Stamp. There’s a sprinkling of the beautiful flower sets Altenew are so well-known for and also lots of fun and unique sets too. Today I played with the Amazing You, Be Strong and Farmers Market sets with a reminder that the beautiful Hibiscus Bouquet set can now be bought separately from the kit it was being featured in previously. I also want to find time to play with the Painted Jellyfish and Faithful Feather sets too.

AMAZING YOU
So let’s crack on! I’m starting alphabetically with the Amazing You set – yup those beautiful Altenew florals do it again. I stamped a selection of flowers and leaves in Antique Linen Distress Ink and die cut with their matching dies before watercoloring to give a no line colored look. I also added extra definition to the shadows with Faber Castell pencils.
Meanwhile I loosely watercolored a light peach background and then splattered with paint followed by a solution of Perfect Pearls. When dry I mounted the florals with foam adhesive.
I stamped one of the Amazing You sentiments in Versafine Smokey Gray on Ivory card, trimmed to a skinny banner to layer over the flower stems and added a few sequins as a final touch. I mounted the panel on a Fog card base.
BE STRONG
I love the succulent and cacti trend and the Be Strong set captures that modern quirkiness perfectly. I stamped a variety of the set images in Versafine Onyx Black ink and then die cut with their matching dies before watercoloring.
For the background I watercolored a light blue with paint and Perfect Pearl solution splatters and when dry stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black.
Finally I mounted the cacti and light strings with foam adhesive and then added the panel to a Desert Storm card base.
FARMERS MARKET
Next up we have the bold graphics of the Farmers Market set. I stamped the artichoke from the set in Frayed Leaf ink on Neenah Solar White card then restamped the lower third of the artichoke with Forest Glades ink to give a gradient of green. I die cut the artichoke with its matching die and then used Faber Castell pencils to pull in the purple shading you see on some artichokes.
I layered the artichoke on a panel of Desert Storm card with a strip of text pattern paper. I also stamped the ‘matters’ with clear embossing ink on the bottom right corner of this panel and white heat embossed. Then I stamped the ‘kindness’ from the set on vellum and embossed with Antique Gold powder. I then wrapped the vellum strip around the panel and secured on the back.
I mounted the panel on a white card base and accessorised with a sequin and adhesive pearl.
HIBISCUS BOUQUET
Last but not least is a reminder of this Hibiscus Bouquet card I made before when this set was sold as a bundle with inks. Well the Hibiscus Bouquet set is now being sold separately too for those of you that already have the inks.
