Gosh I can’t believe we are almost at the end of the year already! For today’s card I’m using the Golden Garden set from Altenew. I fell in love with the this set a while back after seeing a card by Marika where she colored the set with beautiful blueberries. For my winter berries version today I’m going for a red and green Holiday feel. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I stamped the Golden Garden images with Intense Black ink on Toned Gray card and cut out with their matching dies before coloring with Faber Castell pencils and accenting with white and glitter pens. For the leaf fronds from Floral Frame, I stamped those with embossing ink and white heat embossed before cutting out with the Floral Frame dies. The fronds nestle around the berries nicely and I like how the white embossing brightens everything up a little.
On a Stitched Rectangle of the Toned Gray card I white heat embossed a sentiment from Holiday Wishes and splattered the panel with white gouache. I gathered the die cuts together and adhered with foam adhesive. I then accented with a twine bow and a few clear sequins. Finally I mounted the finished panel on a white card base.
Before I go, last chance to grab those Holiday stamp bundles :D

Beautiful, Debby! The berries and leaves are gorgeous!
Amazing coloring—with pencils! I really struggle with pencil blending. The tonal gray paper is interesting–looks almost blue in some photos.
Wow is the word!! This card is breathtaking!!
It’s amazing how you used this set on a holiday card! I would never thought about it!
Coloring is incredible, and how smart to use gray cardstock!
Stunning card, Debby! Love the combination of the two stamp and die sets. Gorgeous look of the pencil crayons on the toned gray art paper. I’ll definitely have to give this a try. I really enjoy the artistic way you display your cards – your photographs are so beautiful.
Thank you!
Wonderful!
Hi, Debby: I had a question about the toned gray strathmore card that you used. It says it’s sketch paper. Have you tried to watercolor on it? I would dearly love to find some gray watercolor paper. I would also like to know if its a cool gray or a warm gray. It looks cool in your pictures. I love the texture that the gray card has. I am getting polychromos for Christmas. I can’t wait to use them! I have to admit that i “borrowed” them before they were wrapped so that i could make swatch cards. The colors are gorgeous! Your cards always inspire me so much. Thanks in advance. Hugs, treen
OK, sorry to take so long to get back to you Treen. Holiday crazies and all that! So the Strathmore is a lovely cool grey I’d say. However it is thinner than normal card; sort of more like a thick paper. I’ve not tried it but I’m guessing it would be too thin to watercolor on.
Debby this is stunning! I always marvel at how you’re able bring stamped images to life with your coloring, oh how I would love to have your talent!
Debbie – this is truly one of the best cards I’ve seen this holiday season! The slightly woodsy feel of the Strathmore gray with the bright wintery colors is a delight for the eyes. And I never, ever would have guessed that you could use black and white heat embossing on one card – but you knew just what you were doing. Bravo! Thanks for a lovely inspiration.
Thanks Gini I do love that Strathmore Gray at the moment!
OMG, Debby – this is just stunning! I have this set and this has to be one of the most beautiful cards I’ve seen made with it!
Thanks Daria!
Gorgeous!!!
