Today is the release of the much-anticipated Limited Edition 2016 Holiday Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp. You can check the jam-packed kit below. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.

VINTAGE INSPIRATION

When I opened the kit box I was delighted to see such a range of products with a classic vintage feel. I couldn’t wait to color the Santa from the Swell Christmas stamp set but before I did I spent some time on Pinterest to gather vintage vibes.

With my head filled with the warm glow of the vintage scenes I stamped the Santa from Swell Christmas in Pumice Stone Distress Ink on a Stitched Oval of Arches watercolor card and watercolored before adding details with pencils. I used the white Prismacolor pencil included in the kit to add a soft highlight to Santa’s hat. I also used a white gel pen for the freckles on his cheeks and drew in his eyes with a black marker.

For the sentiment, I stamped in Embossing Ink and used the Antique Gold embossing powder from the kit to heat emboss. I cut a card base from the Kraft card and a Stitched Rectangle from the Authentique patterned paper and using a mini blender, rubbed Brushed Corduroy around the edges. I wrapped embroidery thread around the top of the patterned paper, tied in to a bow and added one of the beautiful My Mind’s Eye stickers to embellish.
