ALTENEW NOVEMBER RELEASE

So many fun and unique sets! From the Vintage Teacup stamp and die that as a Brit I was bound to love, to the always fabulous Altenew flower sets, labels in many languages, sewing and to finish a few dies for previously released stamp sets :D I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. VINTAGE TEACUP

Talking of a cuppa, I’m going to kick things off with the truly beautiful new Vintage Teacup set. There is a matching die for this set and I’ve already got another project lined up with that ;D For today I wanted to reflect my obsession with cups, mugs and teacups not just for drinking from but as a general repository be it for pens, keys, makeup or the odd bloom from the garden. Cups are such a pretty way to hold things.

I wanted to create a no-line look to the watercolor so stamped the Vintage Teacup in Mountain Mist and then the leaf and flower from Beautiful Day in Frayed Leaf and Frosty Pink respectively. This gave a light outline to the images as a base for watercoloring. After lightly watercoloring I added a few pencil details for definition and depth.

Finally I stamped the sentiment from Vintage Teacup in Versafine Vintage Sepia, die cut the panel with a Stitched Rectangle and added to a Desert Storm card base.

ADORE YOU

For my next card I wanted to highlight the beautiful lines of the flowers and leaves in the Adore You set. I chose a muted palette of peachy pinks to let the gold heat embossed lines shine.

I stamped several of the leaves and flowers from Adore You in embossing ink on watercolor card and then heat embossed with Antique Gold powder. I trimmed these out and very lightly added a touch of watercolor to them. While they were still damp I moulded their shapes slightly in the palm of my hand to give them more dimension.

I added the flowers and leaves to a Stitched Rectangle of watercolor card on which I’d watercolored a light peachy pink background. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Adore You set on Smoke card and trimmed out before adding to the panel. I then added the panel to a Fog card base and accented with sequins.

HELLO SUNSHINE

For my last card I wanted to try something a little different by attempting to create a marbled watercolor background in a more masculine color palette. I repeatedly stamped and white heat embossed three of the images from the Hello Sunshine set on watercolor card.

I added pops of watercolor to the images and then layered two colors of watercolor for the background around them to try to create the marble look. I also watercolored a scrap of spare card and then white heat embossed the Hello Sunshine sentiment before cutting this and the background panel with Stitched Rectangles.

I added the finished panel to a white card base and accented with sequins.
