Today it’s a one-set-two-ways kind of day as I’m looking at the new Winter Flowers set from the Believe In The Season release from Simon Says Stamp to create two very different cards! This post is part of a blog hop to celebrate the new release; you can find all the details below :D I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
WINTER FLOWERS
Let’s start with a pop of watercolor! I stamped lots of the images from the Winter Flowers set on Saunders Waterford watercolor paper with Versamark ink and white heat embossed before cutting out with their matching dies.
I then broke out my watercolors and gave some loose layers to the die cuts, letting the watercolor pool in and around the embossed lines. When dry I mounted them on a panel of watercolor card die cut with a Stitched Rectangle and splattered with Heidi Swapp gold color shine.
For the sentiment banner I used the lovely Magical Christmas set and stamped with Versamark on Ivory card and heat embossed with Antique Gold powder before die cutting with the matching die and mounting over the flowers. A little stickles here and there and a few sequins and then I mounted the finished panel on a Desert Storm card base.
VELLUM POINSETTIA
Could this monochromatic card be any more different from the color burst above and yet it uses many of the same supplies – Winter Flowers stamp and die set, white embossing and stickles for that essential Christmas sparkle.
I stamped and white heat embossed the poinsettia from the Winter Flowers set on vellum three times and then die cut one of the images with the matching die. With the other two images I selectively trimmed out some of the petals and then layered the three images on top of one another, added rhinestones for the centre and lined some of the petals with Star Dust Stickles.
I added the poinsettia to a panel of Fog card on which I’d white heat embossed some of the leaf and berry images from the Winter Flowers set.
For the sentiment I die cut the beautiful Merry Christmas Script from deep silver grey glitter card and foam mounted on the panel at an angle. The panel is then mounted on a white card base.
