I’m delighted to be hopping along today for the Hero Arts October My Monthly Hero kit! More on the hop below but for now lets kick things off with a look at what’s included in the kit. I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
The kit retails for $34.99 but has a value of over $60 and is a limited edition – once it’s gone it’s gone!

► Dies for creating a snowglobe, snowdrifts and other background elements
► Seven coordinating Frame Cuts dies to match the stamp set
► Three pigment ink cubes in White, Silver and Baby Blue
► Eight White Cards and Envelopes
► Polar White Flower Soft
► Buttons Galore Shaker Mix
► Acetate Sheets in 4″x4.5″ (7) and 4″x6″ (1) for creating a shaker card
► Light Blue Gemstones
However for my card and tag duo today I used one of the kit add ons. Winter Time Fun has the sweetest images to create classic Christmas scenes. Oh and the “fluffy hugs” sentiment I had to use based on the fact one of our cute white rabbits is called Fluffy! I’ll pop a picture of him at the end of the post ;)
For the card I stamped the young stag and rabbit on a rectangle of white card, masked them by stamping on masking paper, trimming out and adhering and then I was able to stamp the tree and post box so they appeared as if they were behind the winter critters. I then colored with Copics before masking all the images and cutting a gentle slope from masking paper and blending blue ink along the skyline. I also stamped some snowflakes in the same ink so that it appeared the deer and bunny were gazing up at the falling flakes. The panel is mounted on a fog card base and paired with a red envelope to bring in the Christmas colors.
I repeated a similar scene for on a tag die for the fox and then tied with some red bakers twine.
I’m enjoying my CAS roots with this card and tag duo and the card is almost one layer and so will post easily too :D
Here’s a final look at the new kit and all the add ons:
As mentioned above this post is part of a hop to celebrate the launch of the new kit. As with all good hops a prize is involved – Hero Arts are giving away one kit as a prize from the comments across the blogs in the hop :D Here’s a look at the hop participants, but if you get lost along the way then it’s always a good idea to head back to the start at Hero Arts. Now though, it’s time to hop along to …

This little guy is the reason I just had to use the “fluffy hugs” sentiment! He is so sweet-natured and belongs to my youngest son who dotes on him with lots of love and cuddles. He was off school for part of last week (just the usual type of virus children like to share with each other) and I caught this sweet moment between the two of them :D
