ALTENEW OCTOBER 2016 RELEASE
As always, first it’s great to take a look at the release as a whole so you can fully see what’s on offer.

16 fabulous and fun new stamp sets!
SIMPLE FLOWERS
I hope your scrolling finger is set as here we go and I’m starting off with the Simple Flowers set. I love the bold graphics and thought about the fun patterns that the designer Eloise Renouf creates when I was making this card. In fact she often has patterns of bold flowers on simple stems with a neutral pattern as a backdrop.
So with the above inspiration in mind I stamped three flowers in Mountain Mist, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee and then masked the flowers before stamping the Wood Pallet Background in Morning Frost.
Although I’d masked the flowers, for the leaves I simply stamped over the background pattern with Evening Gray and Frayed Leaf. Then added the stems in Lava Rock which I also used for part of the sentiment along with some Caramel Toffee.
I simple trimmed the panel and added it to a grey card base.
MODERN DEER
My next card is super clean and simple. I stamped one of the images from Modern Deer in Sand Dunes with some rock and roll technique to add a little shading with Rocky Shore on his rear.
I stamped his face details and hooves in Espresso and then colored a little more shading to the deer with Copics, Pencils and a white gel pen. I cut a simple slope from masking paper and blended Mountain Mist ink along the edge before stamping a sentiment from Holiday Wishes in Versafine Onyx Black.
The heart is stamped in Rouge, trimmed out and added with foam adhesive before coating with Stickles. The finished panel is mounted on a grey card base.
BOLD BLOSSOM
For my final card I pulled out the Bold Blossom set. I stamped the flowers and leaves in Versamark on Arches Hot Pressed watercolor card and white heat embossed before watercoloring. I also watercolored two other pieces of watercolor card; one in tones of green and one pink.
I then partially die cut the blossom image with a circle die and also cut the other watercolored pieces with circle dies of varying dimension. On the smallest circle I stamped a sentiment from Floral Sprig in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Antique Gold powder.
I then layered the circles on a panel of grey card on which I’d white heat embossed more leaves, mounted this panel on a white card base and then accented with sequins.
ONE MORE
One of the new sets, Floral Frame, was previewed earlier in the year as part of the Masterpiece Box from Simon Says Stamp. You can see this pencil colored card here :D

Such beautiful cards!
The jingle bell is such a cool layering stamp. It is by far the best layer stamp I have seen. So real looking I cannot get over it. I have stopped myself so many time from buying it, but I think I am just going to have to give in to the urge =)
