As my second of three posts today I’ve a video tutorial of pencil shaded watercolor on Splitcoaststampers using the gorgeous Merci Beaucoup set from Clearly Besotted and I’m delighted to share it here too :D I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
I white heat embossed the beautiful rose on Arches hot pressed watercolor card before watercoloring and added details and shading with Prismacolor pencils. I blended the pencil details with solvent on a paper stub.
I cut the watercolor in to a panel, wrapped with twine, rubbed with Antique Linen Distress Ink and added to a Desert Storm card base. I white heat embossed the sentiment from Message Me on Lollipop card, trimmed to a banner and then added to the side of the panel.

Oh my Debby, this is spectacular! I can’tell wait to try this.
Exceptional beauty! This card is awesome. Great video, thank you for sharing!
Beautiful!!!!! I love how you have your embossing powder in those sprinkle containers.. Do you have a link of where to get them? Also can you funnel the powder back into them easily? Thanks!!!
Hi Jennifer, the spice shakers are from Amazon https://limedoodledesign.com/spice They are convenient for space and I take the shaker part off to decant the powder back in :D
How neat!!! THanks!!
Really fabulous pencil addition! Thanks for the video :)
Oh, Debby, this card is stunning! Absolutely gorgeous! I’m so grateful that you share your talent. I always learn so much from you. X
Stunning card and a great video!!!
Debby, I really enjoy your videos and learn so much from them. Thank you for taking the time to share your process. I notice that sometimes you use Arches cold-pressed and sometimes you use hot-pressed. Can you tell me how you decide which to use?
Hi Deb, I really like the texture of cold pressed but with such a delicate image I was worried I’d struggle to get a good stamped impression on all that texture so on this occasion picked the smoother hot pressed paper :D
Thank you for your response. That is really helpful to understand and will help me choose going forward!
Debby: Thank you for reminding me how much I love technique. The results are stunning. I can’t get enough of this style. I have been following for at least a year and you are awesome.
One of the most beautiful cards I’ve seen- this technique produced lovely results, & I want to try it. Of course, everything you do is remarkable- thank you!
