Last week I shared this Remember This project over on the Altenew blog as their video guest for September. In case you missed it I thought I’d share it here too :D In the video below I attempted what is possibly the most color layering and masking I’ve ever tried on one card! I’ve linked all supplies at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used.
Using the beautiful Remember This set I found it helpful to sketch out first where I wanted the flowers, leaves and buds to be before starting to stamp. I used post its to help create the floral grouping but masking paper works too. I really loved the look of the lined images and was tempted to leave the card without much color at all. However I had the Red Cosmos and Green Fields packs of inks that I was keen to try. Usually I spend a while when stamp layering to work out which ink colors go together well so I’m delighted that someone has done all the hard work for me to create these handy packs of inks that all work wonderfully together.
I stamped multiples of this card as accidents happen and it doesn’t take much to get an ink smudge of forget to put a mask in place (yes both of those things happened LOL). However, by stamping multiples then you’ve already got a back up and the less than perfect versions can be used to die cut from, such as the tag I die cut from one of my mistakes.
Well, this card certainly tested my stamp layering and masking abilities LOL, but I love the result of all those layers of color popping of a white background.
